S.C. Hospital Based Cessation Services

The Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control now offers a county-by-county listing of cessation (quit smoking) services available at hospitals throughout the state.

The South Carolina Division of Tobacco Prevention & Control works with local coalitions and other partners to address four main goal areas:

Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of disease and premature death in South Carolina. Currently, almost 26 percent of SC adults smoke cigarettes and more than a third of the state’s high school students report having smoked within the past 30 days.

The key word is “preventable.” Our dependence on tobacco is something we can beat – something that we’ve got to beat. The Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control, along with its partners, is working hard to make South Carolina a healthier place to live and work and a healthier place in which our children can grow up.

Whether you’re interested in making your home, your work, your family, your favorite restaurant or yourself smoke free, you’ll find answers to your questions here and on our partners’ websites. And if you don’t find what you’re looking for, give us a call.
