HIV testing offered free June 27
COLUMBIA – In observance of National HIV Testing Day on Friday, June 27, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control’s Region 7 will offer free HIV, Chlamydia and syphilis testing at the IGA supermarket in St. Stephen in Berkeley County from 2 p. m. to 9 p.m.
The national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 180,000 to 280,000 people nationwide are HIV-positive but are unaware of their status. National HIV Testing Day is an annual campaign to encourage individuals to learn their status.
The IGA is located on U.S. Highway 52 in St. Stephen. The testing is free and no appointments are needed.
