Shoreline Change Advisory Committee Meeting

CHARLESTON – The Shoreline Change Advisory Committee will meet June 20 in Charleston, the S. C. Department of Health and Environmental Control announced today.
The committee will discuss topics related to shoreline management and consider issues, content and formatting for use in the development of shoreline management policy option templates.
The committee will set aside a 30-minute public comment period beginning at 9 a.m. for citizens to express their concerns and ideas. Written comments may be submitted to DHEC’s Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management by e-mailing Braxton Davis at: davisbc@dhec.sc.gov.
Organized by DHEC, the Shoreline Change Advisory Committee is a broad cross-section of stakeholders including scientists, coastal managers, municipal officials, developers, conservationists and legal professionals. The committee’s purpose is to organize existing shoreline research, identify research priority needs and consider policy-related issues concerning management of South Carolina’s estuarine and beachfront shorelines.
